This Week
This week I have added sound and of course more art.
This biggest struggle for me is the time it takes to create the art. Some assets can be recycled from my first year proposal for this game as they just need polish, other art needs to be created from scratch.
This week I have redone the menu scene as I didn't like my first attempt. I have fixed and made small objects for the scenes - rocks, grass, new platforms and earphones that I love. I have fixed the idle scene for the main character, as she looked like she had a nervous twitch. I added the earphones and the key code for acquiring them - they really need a warp code written to transfer to the hell level. I still need to draw the angels, heaven level and halo object. I did the UI for the Menu scene... I really love the aesthetics of this first page of my game.
I created three sounds and just have them activated on enter - this ends on collection ... which is what I hoped for. The sound I created was a read through of the poem as sound to the menu scene, sound for the earphones and game music. The Sounds in the game are sound tracks from my music library - cut and modified from 90's music.
Working on all the aspects of the Beta build assessment today is mostly about paperwork.
